This is another example of a painting where the image creates itself. Strangely, this is the second Indian god that has appeared in my paint. Hanuman's body was well formed, and his head and tail were discernable. All I had to do was to sculpt him out from the background.

In Hindu mythology, Hanuman is the penultimate example of faith, courage and devotion. So... if a monkey can reach such heights, why not humans?

In my own view of things, animals are no lesser than us. Many have an emotional consciousness that is as developed as our own, or perhaps in some instances, more than. Hanuman is a call for us to rise above our own monkey natures.

Anybody who has seen monkeys will understand that they can exhibit the all of the worst traits that we do. However we have another layer or consciousness that should enable us to know better. Should...
